There are many reasons to enjoy reading Lost and Found by author Amy Shojai. I love dogs so that was a sure pick for me and when you add a child with special needs, and add in promising new medical research, and a mystery ... I was hooked!
September Day, yes that is her name, and her sister April end up in a cat and mouse game of death with a suspenseful plot. April's son and his 'in-training' companion dog are missing! April frantically calls her sister to demand that she find Stephen and his dog Shadow. There is a hint of a mystery between the sisters about a debt owed among the two. Stephen is autistic and needs his new medicine within 24 hours or there will be consequences for his health. September feels responsible and drops everything and leaves the safety of her home to search for Stephen and Shadow. Murder starts happening! To find out how Stephen and his new experimental treatment is the factor in the events which happen, you must read the book! I love the perspective from Shadow about his dedication and feelings toward the people in his life and how he must relate to them.
