The Bones She Buried by author Lisa Regan is the fifth in the Detective Josie Quinn series. I enjoy this series very much and each time there is a new book it is as if I am visiting with friends as I read. The first murder in The Bones She Buried is too close for comfort. It is Noah's mother! She is found in her garden face-down with soil stuffed down her throat. It is not long before there is another murder and the method is asphyxiation also. What could the odd items which are found hidden within Colette's sewing machine have to do with the disappearances and murders of people associated with the Pratt family? Noah seems to resent Josie's investigation into the murder of his mother. Is he hiding a family secret or just too stunned to react as Josie plods along to solve this crime?
