Secrets at Cedar Cabin by Colleen Coble is a wonderful follow-up in the Lavender Tides Series. Oh MY! It is such a good suspenseful thriller! If you have not read the previous books in the Lavender Tides series, The View from Rainshadow Bay and The House at Saltwater Point you may feel a bit adrift with so many wonderful characters interacting and revealing previous secrets and mysteries. As I read Secrets at Cedar Cabin, it was as if I was meeting with a familiar community of friends as the stories unfold. The theme of family, friends, secrets, and the harrowing crime of human trafficking comes together to break your heart and unleash your faith. I won't post spoilers, but I just could not stop reading once I started the book.
Bailey Fleming has had many disappointments in her life. She gives her love and care to geriatric nursing and makes a connection with her memory impaired patients. One day her mother is murdered execution style. When she goes into her mother's house to look for answers or clues, she finds much more than she could ever believe. A letter from her mother, a large sum of money and a warning for her to escape immediately are waiting for her to find. This puts Bailey on the run with many questions about her mother. Who could be after her now and want her dead? What did her mother do?
An extremely good story to bring all the people of Lavender Tides together!
