Robyn Carr The View From Alameda Island Family Drama Divorce and Love

The View From Alameda Island by author Robyn Carr is a thoughtfully written story of marital disappointments, divorce, and new beginnings! Robin Carr has written the conflicts, pressures, and even sometimes violence of going forward with a divorce when there are no other options.
Lauren has given twenty-four years to a marriage she felt was a mistake even as she dressed on her wedding day. Now, years later her daughters Lacey who is in college and Cassie who starts college in the fall will no longer be home and need her as much. Lauren has decided it is time for a break from Brad, her controlling and domineering husband.
Beau is going through a difficult divorce from Pamela who has treated their marriage as if it has a revolving door. She gets dissatisfied and takes off and goes on her own for months at a time before coming back home acting as if she has done nothing wrong. Beau stays the course and continues to be a stable father for Pamela's two sons. The boys are young adults still living at home and Beau has cared and loved them since they were small children. He had filed for a divorce months ago and and now Pam is begging to come back.
When is abandonment and loss of love and respect from a spouse enough? Beau will not be manipulated by Pamela again.
Lauren and Beau meet by chance in the beautiful gardens of a church. It is a true friendship at first glance. I appreciate how Beau knows his mind, he has made his decision to change the negative in his life, and he never pressures others to do anything against their will. Lauren has made her painful and hard decision to leave a very comfortable home because there was no love of respect from her spouse. She will not be pressured by children or others to live a life that has no joy or harmony.
This story is a wonderful balance of making a hard decision and continuing to go forward against all odds! I really enjoyed it very much!
