The Beautiful Strangers by author Camille Di Maio is a delightful story about following your dreams, a mystery, and with a romance! The book is written based on historical fiction in a gorgeous location and during a magical age of Hollywood. Kate's grandfather has some memory problems but has convinced Kate there is more to living her life than continuing to work with her family at her uncle's diner. At the urging of her aged grandfather, Kate pawns a family heirloom ring, then she travels to San Diego and lands a part-time job at the fabulous Hotel Del Coronado. Read along as Kate discovers more about the beautiful stranger and meets a beautiful iconic movie star, Marilyn Monroe. The filming of Some Like It Hot has Kate meeting Marilyn and forming a plan for finding more about the Beautiful Stranger, but can she do this before it is too late to see her grandfather one more time and recover the heirloom ring? I enjoyed this story very much!
