Fatal Promise (Detective Kim Stone Crime Thriller #9) by author Angela Marsons is another fast-paced suspense. Detective Kim Stone is very restless as she recovers from the broken leg she suffered in Book 8. She is also still grieving the loss of partner Kevin Dawson. I don't want to post spoilers, but there is a scene when she starts to run and I was sequencing my muscles as the description imagery of her pain was so real! A character from a previous book is murdered and Kim is on the case. This is the start of a series of murders which has Kim and the team working against the clock to find answers. The reader will find spooky chapters which are written in the character of the killer.
Stacey is pursuing the mystery of a missing teenager and resenting the replacement of Dawson by Penn.
The author has written an interesting suspense which involves the whole team who work together as a family!
