LM Ardor The Practice baby A Murder Mystery

The Practice Baby by author LM Ardor is a murder mystery which had so much potential!  Dr. Dee loves her practice as a GP and feels a connection with the patients she has treated since their birth. She has an endearing patient, Tom who has suffered from acute asthma since childhood. Tom is also extremely intelligent although he is diagnosed with borderline Aspbergers Syndrome. She becomes obsessed with the reason for his sudden death. Dr. Dee seems one dimensional and I could not believe how easily she would leave her children on their own alone at home or in a strange hotel while she goes off trying to find Tom's girlfriend Leah. Dr. Dee is a pro at drinking and driving, it seems. I tired very quickly reading the same thing over and over, Tom knew how to treat his asthma, Tom would have taken his asthma meds, Tom would have used a full inhaler...etc.  He had Rohypnol in his system...Tom cannot get to his meds, HELLO?? Right? So, get on to the plot: Who and Why and How?
I really would love for the author to maybe delay the publishing date and be more in-depth with the plot.
