LOWCOUNTRY BOOKSHOP by author Susan M. Boyer is another delightful PI mystery with Liz Talbot and her partner Nate Andrews. I enjoy this series so much! On a rainy night, a series of unfortunate events happen and a man is hit by a white SUV and left to die. The reasons for him being in the street during the downpour are part of the mystery. We meet Poppy Oliver who is found going through Phillip Drayton's pockets in search of a phone as the police and paramedics reach the scene of the accident. She also has a dent in the front of her vehicle, could she be the person responsible for his death? It seems there are too many suspects and not enough answers before the mystery is solved.
The scene at dinner with Liz's parents just cracked me up! It is so funny.
