Lily Graham The Island Villa Historical Fiction with so much HEART and Love!

The Island Villa by author Lily Graham is a beautifully written story about family. There is great love and loss but also new beginnings. This story is told with scenes from the past and in the present day. I really appreciated the fact and fiction aspect of this book, it is very believable.
Charlotte is a recent widow with a college-age daughter, Sage. She loved James and understandably is having a hard time as she misses him each day and night. She carries the urn with his ashes from room to room and talks to him. She knows she needs to let herself began to heal from her loss, although the grief will never fully fade.
Before his death, James had arranged a very special gift for Charlotte to help her during her time of grief. He had purchased Marisal, an old villa which had been in her family generations before on the  Spanish island of Formentera. He had hoped Charlotte would be able to continue her writing.
After Sage is settled in at university, Charlotte decides to go to Spain and see the villa. She only plans to stay a week. Imagine her surprise to learn that her grandmother's sister is still alive!  Oh, the family history she has to share with Charlotte. Now begins a wonderful story of family secrets, persecution, survival, and love, old and new.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
