The Chosen Ones ( DI Robyn Carter #5) by author Carol Wyer is a suspenseful mystery with gruesome murders and lots of secrets. DI Robyn is still working through her life after the death of Davies her fiancee. I really like how Robyn is so bonded to Schrodinger, the rescued cat and calms herself at times by watching it with her phone app through the use of a nanny cam.
Now that there have been three odd murders she has a hard time finding the answers she needs to solve these crimes. Her boss, DCI Flint is on her case as always to solve the murders, but he has also warned her against further questioning of Nathaniel Jones-Kilby, the father of the first victim, Jordan Kilby.
As the story progresses we begin to wonder how the possibilities of a planned High Speed 2 (HS2) railway line, a religious ink to the way the murders were staged, and Pharmacals Healthcare company could be links to the clues for solving the crimes. Is there one killer or two? A very good story with several characters who seem to be guilty.
I enjoy the Robyn Carter mystery series. Each one leaves you with a question or two about the future of Robyn's personal life.
