Tom Lowe has a new series! Elizabeth Monroe from a Sean O'Brien book debuts in WRATH !

Wrath by author Tom Lowe is introducing a woman from an earlier Sean O'Brien book, The Butterfly Forest. Elizabeth Monroe is still grieving for her daughter Molly who was murdered in a Florida wildlife area. That book has stayed with me since I first read it, and now Tom Lowe is giving us Elizabeth...YAY! Elizabeth has given up her cafe and moved to Hattiesburg, MS where she is a professor at the University of Southern Mississippi. One of her best students goes missing and this propels Elizabeth into the hunt for a murderer.
Terrible things have happened on the old bridge in Clark County, Mississippi. I lived in Quitman, MS back in the 1950-1960's until I was about twelve years old and I heard whispered stories at night of evil things which had happened around that bridge. In WRATH, the author starts with the hanging of four slaves in the 1800's. This is the connection Elizabeth links to the sinister murders and the old bridge.
This book is powerfully written and is based on some historical facts. There are some scenes in the book which I was not aware have ever happened in Clark County, such as churches and snakes. But, that makes for an interesting book plot! The book deals with hurtful parts of history which some evil people persist in glorifying by their actions in our present day, in all states, not just Mississippi.
I am thrilled with the Elizabeth Monroe series! I can hardly wait for the next one! Mississippi is rich in history, and not all of it is shameful.
Bring it on Elizabeth Monroe...!
