Thank you NetGalley and the Choc Lit for allowing me to read and review this book)
A Little Bit of Christmas Magic, ( The Rossetti Mysteries #4) by Kirsty Ferry is a delightful holiday romance novella which begins present day and sends the reader into the Victorian age of the past. The story is beautifully written with a bittersweet ghostly or an over-shadow presence of Ella Carrick, the young owner who died in the 1860’s.
Ailsa McCormack is a wedding planner who is making last minute preparations for a Christmas Day wedding. It is Christmas Eve and Ailsa is staying the night at the beautiful historical Carrick Park Hotel which was formerly a family mansion. As Ailsa sits for a few minutes in front of the drawing room fireplace a tall handsome man steps from behind the piano. He is holding a book which is available for visitors about the mansion and the original family who lived there. A bit of magic seems to happen between Ailsa and Ned as they sip wine and talk. Ailsa feels as if she knows Ned or has seen him somewhere before, but she can not remember the time or or place.
Soon Ailsa goes to the little room for some sleep before the hectic wedding day for her clients will begin. As she dreams....
OK! I’m going to stop right here and not give away the sweet story of love, longing, and the wish to stop a tragic event from happening during a time before Ailsa was even born.
I will ask you this, if you could time-travel for one night to be with someone you care about, should you intervene in an event which would change that person’s destiny?
