The Engagement Plot by Krista Phillips is a faith based romance about Hanna and Will. Six months has passed since Hanna appeared as a contestant on The Price of Love and was chosen by Will the wealthy bachelor. During the episodes for the show Hanna had been given the nickname ‘Holy Hanna’ because she wanted to postpone sexual activity until her marriage. To increase ratings, Will bragged during an interview that he and Hannah had been intimate. Hanna was crushed because of the public backlash to her faith and she felt her trust in Will was destroyed.
Now six months later she rescues Will from a blizzard along the lonely road leading to her father’s farm. He wants to apologize for what happened to her during the show. He also admits that he has a scheme to help save his company but he needs her….and he will publicly help to restore her reputation. Hanna believes in forgiveness and agrees to the deception of an engagement with Will to help with the ratings of his company and Hannah thinks it will help restore her image.
Any plan starting with a deception is sure to have problems. That was my only disappointment with this story. You cannot repair a wrong by planning a deception, in my opinion. But the story is very good and the layers of truth that Hanna and Will’s father deliver to the story is very well written!
