Bones to Pick by Linda Lovely is a delightful cozy mystery! The characters are fun and the plot was so entertaining. Brie Hooker is a vegan chef who has come home for her Aunt Lily’s funeral. Brie is with her Aunt Eva at Udderly, her goat farm, preparing food to be set out for all the mourners when a skeleton is discovered at the edge of the property. Her Aunt Eva feels it will be identified as her no-good, abusive husband who went missing 20 years before. AND IT IS! Who wanted him dead more that Aunt Eva??
I won’t post spoilers, but this is a wonderful mystery that will have you laughing out loud! And the addition of a tall, handsome vet and a very adorable and friendly Moonshiner will keep you hoping that Brie will ‘do the right thing’. The mysterious events on the farm range from old buried bones to intruders in the night trying to steal old buried bones. There is an ongoing feud in the community and which side is the sheriff on?
I love the way Brie uses the names of cheeses as she makes exclamations during times of distress.
