This Old Café by author Marci
Boudreaux is a serious romance about second chances. Jenna feels as if she lost
everything when her marriage to Peter
ended. She not only lost her heart and a chance to have a baby, but she also
lost all of her inheritance which she had invested into the restaurant with
Peter. Now she is back in Stonehill and with the help of her brother Marcus,
she is grabbing for a second chance. She is attempting to make a go of running
her own café in an old building which needs many costly repairs. During a failed attempt to repair a water
leak, a stranger comes to her rescue. Daniel is a homeless veteran of the war
who has anger issues. Since coming back from Afghanistan, he has lost three
jobs and now prefers to live alone in an alleyway. As the story progresses,
Jenna and Daniel help each other, but the friendship is not an easy one at
times. The story is realistic in terms of letting the reader know that love
does not erase all of your problems. Sometimes a person must take drastic
actions to make a change for the better. A very sweet story about taking a
chance again in spite of the odds being against your success!
