Well, that is how I think of Lucy James as she fights and shoots her way through many close encounters with the worst of bad guys! Ok, I made it sound simple, but really it isn’t. This is a wonderful story about a young widow who is a CIA operative or courier. She is still mourning the death of her husband, Mac, during one of their missions. I won’t post spoilers, but will give an overview of the book.
Lucy is not just a very efficient and smart CIA asset, she also has a gift which she feels is more like a curse. She does not want anyone to know that she has a sensation of a window in time opening and she is able to watch a few seconds of the future just before a death close to her happens. Can she change the outcome of an impending death?
Lucy is on a mission in Peru when she happens to see an exchange which looks suspicious. It has nothing to do with her mission, but in her heart she can not leave the situation alone. A young girl is lead away from her family in obvious distress. What Lucy finds as she investigate is shocking! And her contact for the CIA mission…can she trust him?
