Beneath Copper Falls by Colleen Coble ....Excellent!

Beneath Copper Falls by Colleen Coble is another wonderful faith based suspense story for Rock Harbor fans. Dana Newell attends a military ball with her brother, Chris. Although Chris is not her blood brother, the family ties are a bit…complicated. During the ball Dana meets a friend of Chris, Garrett Waterman. When she looks into his eyes, she is suddenly attracted to him.

The story skips ahead and finds Dana in trouble and needing to get away from Garret. He has shown violent tendencies and she is afraid he will kill her. Dana is a strong woman who has known the heartache of loss in the past, and she will not be abused by Garret. She goes back to Rock Harbor to live with Chris in the extra floor of his three story renovated home.

She is a dispatcher with 911 services and loves her job. She has her dog, Phantom who is being trained for SAR. Dana feels that God has opened a door of escape for her and she is making sure to slam it shut on the troubles and hurts in her past. As the story progresses we find Garret will not give up on his plans to torment Dana. Even though she feels safe with family and friends…how is she to know there may be more than one psychopath in her life!  I don’t post spoilers…but want you to read the book!

I enjoyed this book so much and once I stated reading I did not want to put it down. The characters are well developed and you create a bond with them as events happen. I also appreciate the faith based theme where the characters are not afraid to acknowledge their belief in God and prayer.

Thank you Colleen for a wonderful story which reminds us to look beyond appearances to find the worth in others.
