Dessert at the Beach House Hotel by Judith Keim is another heartwarming season with Ann and Rhonda. Oh, how delightful it would be to enjoy one of Jean-Luc’s desserts! Amelia Swanson, the vice-president of the United States calls and asks if the two friends will make a room available for a former intern, Amanda Rogers. Mandy served in the office of Senator Worthington and was drugged while attending a staff party. The result of her assault is an unexpected pregnancy. The VP would like to help Mandy spend the remainder of her pregnancy at the Beach House Hotel where she will have privacy, especially since her parents refused to allow Mandy to return home in her condition. Mandy is accompanied by her best friend Jax.
There is news and competition in the neighborhood! Some investors, with the help of the despicable Aubrey Lowell and Brock Goodwin, have renovated a hotel they named The Sand Castle to market to younger guests as the ultimate fun place to stay. Their plan is to cause the Beach House Hotel to falter financially due to lower occupancy. This causes a bit of concern for Ann and Rhonda, but the girls are smart and anticipate the game Lowell and Goodwin are playing. They also were protective of Mandy during her pressure from the Worthington's about her baby girl.
I liked the main characters and enjoyed the interactions during the progression of the story!
