S.T.Young Girl In The Mist...New Release!

Girl in the Mist by author S. T. Young is a psychological suspense thriller with a wonderful plot and likable characters. The beginning of the book states off intense with Nina Hernandez being subjected to a tortuous session of electrotherapy, injections, and abuse. Nina is a former child soldier with the South American Rising Sun organization of trained assassins. Later, after her rescue she was trained as an agent for the Anti-Terrorism Defense Force. She went missing and is now helpless.
Agent Rory O'Donnell is an agent for Naval Intelligence whose mission is to locate the remaining former Rising Sun agents who had been commissioned to the Anti-Terrorism Defense Force. Nina Hernandez is his current target and he visits the Prima Vista Psychiatric Hospital to talk with a young woman who is being held. The woman he meets reacts with a savage fighting instinct and seems to be drugged. Could this be Nina?
This book has a wonderful storyline and the plot is very good. The complex character of Nina is written well and her multiple personalities are easy to navigate during the story. She is a warrior and has her own agenda. Nina is broken. She needs help, she needs a safe place to recover while being pursued by a madman intent on vengeance. Can she be trusted? What is the endgame?
I won't post spoilers, but there are some very intense action scenes which are great.
I would have given the book a higher rating if the authors had written the part of Agent Rory more seriously. He is a seasoned agent but the authors have written him with a problem which seems immature and just not believable. Too early in the book Rory has problems with his sexual tensions and pulsing reactions to a very dangerous former agent who he is trying to get to safety while being pursued by a maniacal killer.?? The lust factor which is written into the EARLY part of the storyline put me off. If it had started later in the book, well yes, I could understand. There is a difference in lust and romance, and this is not romance. That is something I really find out of character for an agent with such an important mission.
